Some of the members attending were from these agencies Siloam Springs, Rogers, Paragould, Jonesboro, Blytheville, West Memphis, Wynne, Hickory Ridge, Hazen, Helena, Monticello, Ashley County, Magnolia, Union County, Mena, Polk County, Russellville, Clarksville, Faulkner County, Conway, Little Rock, Sherwood, Jacksonville, various Troops from the AR State Police and others.

Arkansas PBA President, Robert Henderson, welcomed the group and had a few words of encouragement. Arkansas PBA staff representative, Kimmons Gray, addressed those in attendance on the importance of continued strength in membership with regard to political strength. The group met in the morning for a short training session on politics and the PBA philosophy, presented by Jeff Fluck, the Director of Governmental Affairs for Southern States PBA.

During the morning discussions, Lt. Governor Halter stopped by to welcome the group to the Capital. He mentioned how much he looked forward to working with the PBA in upcoming sessions. Prior to lunch, Senator Glover from Carlisle addressed the group.

He spoke on various issues currently and previously before the legislature.

After lunch the members went to the Capitol to meet with their respective legislators and introduce them to PBA and the Arkansas PBA legislative agenda. President Henderson had a short meeting with Governor Beebe where he discussed state law enforcement issues.

The day was capped off with the group attending a session of the Arkansas State Senate, where the Lt. Governor recognized them, from the floor.

The day was a great first step in Arkansas PBA’s effort to improve the life of law enforcement officers through legislative involvement.
