On Saturday September 9, 2006, the Arkansas PBA Board of Directors met in Little Rock for the purpose of screening and endorsing candidates for the United States Congress. All four of the Arkansas District House races are up for election.

All candidates were invited to meet with the “Screening Committee” at the Hilton on University. Five of the candidates responded. Four of them attended and were interviewed. At the conclusion, the Committee forwarded their recommendations to the Board of Directors as required by policy. The Arkansas PBA Board of Directors, after much deliberation, voted on the committee’s recommendations.

The following candidates have received the endorsement of the Arkansas Police Benevolent Association for the United States House of Representatives from Arkansas:

District 1          No endorsement in this race

            District 2          Andy Mayberry

            District 3          Woodrow Anderson

District 4          No endorsement in this race

The Arkansas PBA Board of Directors urges each member to support these candidates and encourage families and friends to do the same and on November 7th, cast a vote for PBA!
