Kimmons Gray
Staff
Representative - West
|
Kimmons
Gray was born in the town of Wynne AR in 1964, and then moved to
Desoto Co, Miss, when he was three with his parents. At the age
of ten, they moved to Okla. where his mother was a high school
teacher. Kimmons was an athlete, in high school. His love for
football led him to Oklahoma State University where Coach Jimmy
Johnson had him playing center for the cowboys. After
leaving college where he had studied criminal justice, he joined
the Army and became an infantryman in the 11-H battalion. He
later reenlisted and became a crew chief on a Blackhawk
helicopter. |

After
completing his military adventure, Kimmons went back to
Mississippi and started his career in Law Enforcement. During
his time on the job, Kimmons worked in many areas of law
enforcement but soon found his niche in DUI enforcement where he
ran a DUI unit for about 12 years. Kimmons later became a SFST
Instructor and then a Master Instructor, teaching all over the
state. Kimmons also worked as the police academies teaching SFST
(Standardized Field Sobriety), DAR (Drug abuse recognition) and
Professional traffic stops. He believes that Officers need
a support mechanism in place to protect them With this in
mind, he joined the PBA in 1992 and set out to make life better
for Law Enforcement Officers all over the state. Kimmons was
elected President of the North MS Chapter of the PBA in the
late 90’s and held that post until 2004. He proudly served as
the Vice President of the MS State Division Chapter, which gave
him an opportunity to get involved in state political action on
behalf of MS Law Enforcement Officers.

After
making the decision this year to bring his law enforcement
career to a close, he was hired to work for the PBA full time as
a staff representative. He has the opportunity to help
more officers now than he ever could before while working on the
streets.
Kimmons Gray is the father of five wonderful children, ranging
from age 14 to 3 year’s old. His wife is a Registered Nurse and
is working in the nursery at their local Hospital taking care of
the newborn baby’s. He still trains Officers around the
state when he has the time and works part time at a local Police
Department, which gives him a great opportunity to recruit new
members into the PBA. If you ask him how he is doing, he will
probably tell you “great, I’m truly blessed”.
