A Welcome To the ARPBA

Welcome to the website of the Arkansas Division of the Police Benevolent Association (PBA).  This website was established for your benefit in the hopes that it will help keep you updated on the current events and future work of the PBA in Arkansas.  The Arkansas PBA is an association of full time, part time and retired Law enforcement Officers, Correctional Officers and their support staff with Federal, state, county and municipal departments across the State of Arkansas.  Please take the time to make yourself familiar with the information contained in these pages and introduce others in our profession to this website.

Although the Southern States PBA (SSPBA) has been protecting law enforcement for years, The Arkansas division was just recently established.  The Arkansas division board of directors is comprised of wonderfully talented men and women with an unsurpassed passion for Law Enforcement.  Their dedication to the improvement of the pay, benefits and working conditions of the law enforcement community in this state is truly extraordinary.

As of September of 2006 we are at a membership of approximately 1,200 in the state of Arkansas.  Your board has set a new goal of 2,000 by August of 2007 and if each of us are able to reach one more brother or sister in law enforcement we can surpass our goal by 400 members.  This may seem like a hard task, however we are law enforcement officers and I don’t believe any task is hard.

Our division will be active in many political screenings of which the most important will be your local political races.  Political action is the only way to get the change we are seeking and I am committed to helping each and every law enforcement officer in this state by hosting as many political screenings as possible.  The division board has told me of many issues in our state, to include but not limited to, retirement, “At Will,” due process for officers, and many more.  I will work tirelessly to resolve these issues as soon as possible and I know I can depend on each of you to help me get these accomplished for all of us.

As we enter into our first year, may I implore you to sign up at least one more officer this year.  I encourage you to become active with your local chapter by attending the meetings to keep yourself updated on current events, and participating in as many political screenings as possible.  A lot will be asked of us over the next few years, but much will be gained for the officers of this state and their families.  If I can be of any assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to call me.  I look forward to working with you over the next year and many years to come.
